The old town is the core of the cultural and historical heritage of Ulcinj. On the upper plateau of the fortress, right next to the northern gate, there is a city museum complex. The most interesting historical monuments of Ulcinj are located in that area. There is also a church-mosque converted into a museum where all finds from the Old Town are exhibited. The following stand out in particular: an ancient pedestal with a Greek inscription of the goddess Artemis, an ancient cameo with a representation of the goddess Athena with a helmet, two axes from the Bronze Age of the Skadar-Dalmatian type. The lapidarium exhibits an Ionic capital, parts of the ciborium from the Small Church from the 9th century and objects from the Turkish period. Directly behind the museum is the Balšić Tower, whose space is now used as a gallery. In front of it is a small square, once the Square of the Slaves, surrounded by casemates (volts) of revelina. At the entrance is the Ravelin ramp, and opposite it is the high Balani wall from the Venetian era. In front of the entrance to the museum there is a Turkish fountain from 1749.novirednovirednovirednoviredNearby is the Ethnological Museum with a very rich collection of exhibits. Njegoš's mausoleum is located at the very top of the Lovćen mountain, more precisely at 1660 meters above sea level, on Jezerski vrh. The mausoleum was built as the eternal house of Peter II Petrović Njegoš. Njegoš was the ruler of Montenegro, a poet, a bishop and the embodiment of an extremely brave man who wanted to free his people from slavery and elevate them economically, socially, culturally and spiritually. Bishop often went to Lovćen to observe the beautiful Boka from the top of the mountain, from where one of the most beautiful views of the bride of the Adriatic opens. Since he was a very wise man, Njegoš requested that his eternal house be on the second highest peak of Lovcen, and that the highest peak be left as the eternal resting place of a greater ruler of Montenegro than he himself was. It would be done that way, and the highest peak of Lovcen is still waiting for that master, better than Njegoš, who will rest there.novirednovirednovirednoviredPrimarily, a chapel was built here by order of Njegoš, where he wanted to rest. The chapel was demolished in the First World War (January 1916) and was rebuilt by King Aleksandar Karađorđević in 1925. After the Second World War, the newly formed government in Montenegro demolished the chapel and erected a mausoleum instead of the church.novirednovirednovirednoviredThe famous sculptor Ivan Meštrović made a sketch of the mausoleum, and it is said that he never lived to see his work on top of the mountain. There are various stories about how much Ivan Meštrović was paid for the design of the mausoleum. According to many sources, this was one of the most expensive projects in Yugoslavia at the time.novirednoviredThe mausoleum was opened in 1970, because the construction was halted for a while. Njegoš was originally buried in the Cetinje Monastery, until the completion of the mausoleum. A narrow road for cars (from the village of Njeguši) and exactly 461 steps lead to the top of the mausoleum, which represents the number of verses in Njegoš's famous literary work "Mountain Wreath".

Perast is surely one of the strangest, and by its history one of the most beautiful places in Kotor bay. Today it is often called the quietest town in Boka. Its narrow streets and numerous, mostly abandoned renaissance, and baroque palaces, testify about the former richness of the Kotor bay, and about the days when there used to be led a luxurious life of its inhabitants.novirednovirednovirednoviredPerast used to be a town of sailors, and it was know by that even outside the space of Montenegro. We can see even today that famous stone housed and captain’s palaces standing out. There are 16 preserved palaces in Perast, among them is the baroque palace Bujovic at the very entrance in Perast. Other palaces are: Bronza, Sestokrilovic, Mazarovic, Balovic, Viskovic, Pavlovicini, Martinovic, Zmajevic and others.novirednovirednovirednoviredAll of them represent 12 Perast brotherhoods (clans). Perast during the winter has more sunny hours that the famous tourist places on the Azure coast.novirednovirednovirednoviredEven though it doesn’t offer lots of events, Perast is quite interesting during the summer. During July and August various festivities like traditional Fašinada – a ritual procession of barges and boast, which take stones with them which is then put onto the Our Lady of the Rocks island, occur there. Fašinada is held in July. In August Perast is a host to the manifestation – Meetings of music clappers – in which competitors – singers compete in traditional singing which is present on the part of the Mediterranean which goes from Dalmatia to Montenegro. Because of the lack of beach zone, the coast of Perast is not suitable for beach tourism.
